LOS ANGELES -- LMU men's soccer enters the 2026 season with a talented mix of returning contributors and an incoming class featuring experienced transfers, international standouts and accomplished academy products. Â
The Lions will also be supported by three new assistant coaches in Erik Holt, Shion Jahangiri and
Jack Cybulski. Holt returns after a stint at UCLA and brings MLS playing experience and a track record of player development, while Jahangiri adds extensive goalkeeping expertise after eight years at Vanguard. Cybulski transitions into a coaching role after serving as LMU's Director of Soccer Operations, bringing valuable scouting and recruiting experience to the staff.Â

Hovers enters his third season on the bluff after appearing in 17 matches and making 17 starts in 2025, posting a 1.65 goals-against average with 47 saves and two shutouts across 1,530 minutes. Born in Blaricum, the Netherlands, and raised in Rye, N.Y., Hovers honed his game during a postgraduate year at South Kent School, where he earned All-State and All-Section honors. He will compete for minutes in a deep and talented goalkeeper group as the Lions prepare for the 2026 campaign.Â

Roney arrives on the bluff as a true freshman goalkeeper out of Austin, Texas, where he sharpened his game in the Austin FC Academy before a standout senior year at SAI Academy. A three-year varsity goalkeeper, he'll compete for minutes behind the Lions' more experienced options as he begins his collegiate career.Â

Galvin enters his senior season after carving out a steady midfield role in 2025, recording an assist across 10 appearances and six starts while totaling 585 minutes. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native was a First Team All-State selection and team captain at Notre Dame Preparatory, helping the program to a 4A state runner-up finish. Galvin will be counted on for experience and composure in the middle of the park in his final season with the Lions.Â

Atia joins the Lions after two collegiate stops, most recently at Central Arkansas, where he started 14 matches and recorded two assists in 2025. The Cairo, Egypt, native also spent a season at UMass Lowell and has represented Egypt and Canada at the U20 level. He adds experience and international pedigree to LMU's back line.Â

Wilson joins the Lions after two seasons at Stony Brook, where he served as team captain and helped anchor the back line as a centerback in the CAA. Prior to that, he spent a semester in the Atlantic 10. The Selden, N.Y., native starred at Newfield High School, earning All-State honors as a junior, and played academy soccer with NYCFC and Queensboro FC before college. Wilson adds proven experience to LMU's defensive corps in his first season on the bluff.Â

Rodrigues enters his senior season as one of the most tested defenders in the WCC, having started 49 of 51 career matches and helping anchor a back line that reached the NCAA Tournament as a freshman. He set a career high with six assists in 2025 after scoring the go-ahead goal against California Baptist as a sophomore. The Campbell, Calif., native came through the San Jose Earthquakes Academy and has represented the U.S. at the U15, U17 and U19 national team levels.Â

Sacristan arrives at LMU as a graduate transfer pursuing his MBA after two decorated seasons at Cal State Fullerton, where he earned All-Big West honors and served as team captain. Prior to that, he spent a season at Grand Canyon. The Madrid, Spain, native developed in the academy system with Rayo Majadahonda and RCD Mallorca before his collegiate career. Sacristan brings a wealth of experience to the midfield as he begins his final season of eligibility.Â

Boyadjian enters his sophomore season fresh off a breakout freshman campaign in which he led the Lions with five goals and added three assists for 13 points, including a two-goal outing against Cal State Fullerton. The Glendale, Calif., native played his club soccer with Albion SC Los Angeles and LAFC, earning MLS NEXT All-Star Game honors in 2024. Boyadjian projects as one of LMU's top offensive threats heading into 2026.Â
Radebe joins the Lions after a decorated JUCO career, most recently helping Tyler Junior College capture the Region 14 championship and finish as the nation's No. 1 ranked JUCO program in 2024-25, earning All-Region honors along the way. Before that, he spent a season at Angelina College. The Cape Town, South Africa, native developed through the club pipeline with Ajax Cape Town and Cape Town City. Radebe will look to add depth and physicality to LMU's midfield in his first season on the bluff.Â

Djeha arrives after a breakout season at Georgia State, where he led the Panthers with six goals and added four assists in 17 matches. The France-born, Montreal-raised forward previously earned RSEQ Rookie of the Year and First Team All-RSEQ honors at the University of Montreal. He brings proven scoring ability to LMU's attack.Â

Clutton returns for his final season on the bluff after bouncing back from a lost 2024 to injury, scoring three goals and adding an assist in 14 matches in 2025. The Newport, Wales, native brings a rich professional pedigree, having spent over a decade in the Bristol Rovers academy system and earning more than 20 caps across Wales' youth national teams, including an appearance in the 2016 Victory Shield. Clutton has also competed in Europa Conference League qualifying against FC Santa Coloma of Andorra and will look to be a dual-threat weapon at forward and midfield in his graduate season.Â

Nieves enters his junior season after a career year in 2025, starting all 17 matches and contributing three goals and four assists for 10 points from a versatile role across the back line and midfield. The Savannah, Ga., native transferred to LMU from Collin College, where he earned an associate's degree, and played academy soccer with FC Dallas. Nieves has now scored in each of his first two collegiate seasons and will be looked to as a two-way difference-maker in 2026.Â

Vagenas joins the Lions as a true freshman out of Arcadia, Calif., after nearly a decade in the LA Galaxy Academy system, capped by an MLS Next Cup Championship with FC Golden State Force in 2024. His father, Peter, played men's soccer at UCLA from 1996-99. Vagenas graduated as salutatorian of his class and will look to bring academy-level polish to LMU's midfield as a true freshman.Â

Sonnah joins the Lions as a true freshman from Monrovia, Liberia, by way of Westminster School in Connecticut, where he was a team captain and Connecticut All-State selection as a senior, scoring 18 goals with 12 assists across three seasons. He also gained professional experience with Hartford Athletic II, earning UPSL New England South Premier Division Team of the Week honors twice. Sonnah began his development at the Lead Monrovia Football Academy in Liberia before his prep career in the U.S. and will look to make an immediate impact in the midfield.Â

Wright joins the Lions after appearing in all 20 matches at Campbell, totaling one goal and four assists as a freshman. The Austin, Texas, native scored 59 career goals at Lake Travis High School and helped lead the program to a state championship. He adds athleticism and attacking depth up front.Â

Zimmermann joins the Lions after a season at the University of Leipzig. The Munich, Germany, native graduated from Theodolinden Gymnasium in 2023 and chose LMU for the combination of a strong soccer program, quality education and the chance to live in Los Angeles.Â

Habovstak returns for his senior season after making 13 appearances with seven starts in 2025, continuing to develop into a steady defensive piece following a redshirt year in 2024. The Phoenix, Ariz., native was an eight-year product of the Phoenix Rising FC academy and starred at Brophy College Prep, graduating with a 4.309 GPA. Family played a significant role in his decision to attend LMU, allowing him to stay close to home during his mother's cancer battle. Habovstak will look to bring senior leadership to the back line in 2026.Â

Scott joins the Lions after three seasons at UCLA, where he helped the Bruins win both the Pac-12 title in 2023 and the Big Ten title in 2025 as a left wing, while earning multiple Big Ten All-Academic honors and being named UCLA's Men's Soccer Academic Player of the Year in 2024. The Frisco, Texas, native became the youngest player in Reedy High School history to reach 10 career goals and played club soccer with Solar Soccer Club. Scott will pursue a master's degree in business analytics at LMU while adding proven scoring pedigree to the attack.Â

Uriostegui joins the Lions as a true freshman after five years in the Real Salt Lake Academy system and two seasons with Real Monarchs. The Las Vegas native won the Algarve Cup in Portugal and earned a call-up to the U.S. Youth National Team for World Cup qualifying matches against Costa Rica. Uriostegui brings a strong international pedigree to LMU's midfield as he begins his collegiate career.Â

Fuentesal returns to the lineup in 2026 after missing all of 2025. As a sophomore in 2024, he scored three goals, including back-to-back tallies against Gonzaga and Pacific. The Sevilla, Spain, native helped South Kent School win a national championship as a senior, tallying 18 goals and 14 assists, and came up through the Sevilla FC academy. Fuentesal will look for a fresh start atop the attack after two productive seasons prior to his layoff.Â

Contreras joins the Lions as a true freshman with a rich international resume, having signed an academy contract with Sacramento Republic FC at age 16 before earning a call-up to Mexico's U17 national team. He helped Mexico reach the Round of 16 at the 2025 U17 World Cup and also competed in the Canteras de Sudamerica tournament and a tour of the Czech Republic. The Yuba City, Calif., native gives LMU an immediate jolt of experience on the back line.Â

Alvarez joins the Lions after a standout debut season at Taft College, where he was named Freshman of the Year and led the Central Valley Conference in points. The Littlerock, Calif., native was a four-year varsity letterwinner who earned All-Golden League honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. His brother, Ruben, played men's soccer at Cal State Fullerton, and Alvarez will look to carry his scoring touch into WCC play in his first season on the bluff.Â

Dade returns to the crease in 2026 after missing all of 2025 with injury, looking to reclaim the form that made him one of the WCC's most efficient goalkeepers as a redshirt sophomore in 2024. That season, he posted a 1.00 goals-against average and .780 save percentage across nine starts, highlighted by four shutouts including a 25-save clean sheet against West Virginia. The Ontario, Calif., native trained in the LA Galaxy Academy under Marcelo Sarvas and comes from an athletic family -- his father played college basketball at Montana, and both of his sisters compete in NCAA Division I athletics. Dade will battle for the starting job after a career .780 save percentage across his first two healthy seasons.Â

Macias enters his senior season after posting a career-high two assists in 2025, giving him four career points across three seasons on the bluff. He scored his first collegiate goal -- a game-winner -- against Gonzaga as a freshman. Born in Cascais, Portugal, and raised in Madrid, Macias starred at Graded The American School of Sao Paulo, earning team MVP honors and serving as captain during the 2022-23 season. He'll look to add a scoring punch off the bench as a versatile attacking option in his final season.Â

Engel joins the Lions as a true freshman out of Frankfurt, Germany, bringing eight years of experience as a midfielder and right winger in Germany's Youth Bundesliga and Regionalliga. He developed with 1. FSV Mainz 05, where he faced Barcelona and Manchester City in UEFA Youth League play. Engel will look to add a dynamic, technical presence to the LMU attack as he adjusts to the college game.Â

Fischel joins the Lions as a true freshman after averaging 30 goals per season with LA Surf MLS Next, one of the most prolific scoring rates in the club's recent history. The Culver City, Calif., native won the Donosti Cup in Spain in 2019 and competed internationally with a Surf Select team in Northern Ireland. Fischel opted to develop exclusively through the club pathway and will look to translate that scoring instinct to the college game.Â

Diaz joins the Lions after two seasons at UCLA, where he competed as a winger across the Pac-12 and Big Ten. The Torrance, Calif., native came up through the LAFC Academy, where he was recognized as a top goal scorer at both the club and West Coast levels. Diaz adds attacking depth and pace on the wing as he begins his LMU career.Â

Davis joins the Lions as a true freshman after a decorated club career with LA Surf MLS Next, where he served as team captain for five years and was selected for the MLS Next Best of the Best match at the U16 level. The Culver City, Calif., native won the Donosti Cup and earned trial invites from OCSC, LA Galaxy and Austin FC. His mother is an LMU alumna, and Davis chose the Lions for the sense of community and strength of the soccer program. He'll look to bring high-level club pedigree to the back line as a true freshman.Â

Kohnen joins the Lions after developing in the Wolfsburg academy system, where he helped the U19 side reach the DFB-Pokal semifinals and win back-to-back NFV-Pokal regional cups. The Ettelbruck, Luxembourg, native was named Luxembourg Youth National Team Player of the Season in 2022-23 before a most recent stop with Marisca Mersch. Kohnen adds a strong European pedigree to LMU's goalkeeper room.Â

Guedalia arrives as one of the most decorated newcomers in program history, a two-time ECNL All-American who was named the league's National Player of the Year in 2024 en route to a national championship with LAFC SoCal. The Woodland Hills, Calif., native was a two-time Marmonte League MVP and CIF finalist at Calabasas High School, scoring three goals in five playoff matches from the back line as a senior. Guedalia graduated as salutatorian of his class and will look to make an immediate impact on defense as a true freshman.Â
