The Lions (1-3) started the game off on a strong note in doubles play, as
Siobhan Anderson and
Lillian Gabrielsen defeated Salma Ewing and Ana Neffa on court two 6-3.
Elvira Juravliova and
Camila Tumosa were defeated by Estella Jaeger and Danielle Willsin 6-3 on court two. With the doubles point up for grabs,
Veronica Miroshnichenko and
Eva Marie Voracek beat Constance Branstine and Becca Weissmann on court one 7-6, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.
Heading into singles play, Voracek was defeated by Angela Kulikov on court two 6-3, 6-0, while Gabrielsen was beat by Sydney Van Alphen on court five 6-3, 6-2.
With the Trojans up 2-1, Anderson tied things up after beating Weissmann on court three 6-2, 6-3, while Juravliova pushed No. 87 Neffa to three sets, but fell 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Tumosa pushed Branstine to three sets, but fell on court six, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, clinching the match for USC.
