LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team is set to participate in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend at UCLA starting this Saturday.
The ITA Kick-Off will be the Lions (0-1) second road match of the season, as LMU traveled to Eugene, Ore. last weekend to kick off the season, where they put up a fight against the Ducks, but fell 5-2.
Despite the loss, LMU put up some strong showings, as
Camila Tumosa had an impressive 6-1, 6-0 win and
Eva Marie Voracek pushed her opponent to three sets and has proven herself to be a team asset after her and
Veronica Miroshnichenko made an NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
The Lions will head into the weekend as the No. 3 seed and will take on Florida International University on Saturday at 9 a.m., while UCLA will take on Minnesota at noon.
The winners of the two matches will play each other on Sunday at 1 p.m., following the consolation match that starts at 9 a.m.
