LOS ANGELES Calif., - The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team will hit the road for its first dual match of the season to take on the University of Oregon this Friday.
After putting up an impressive 2018 fall campaign, the Lions kick off their 2019 season ranked No. 2 in the 2019 West Coast Conference Women's Tennis Preseason Poll, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Voted by the conference's head coaches, sophomores
Veronica Miroshnichenko and
Eva Marie Voracek earned their spots on the 2019 All-WCC Preseason Women's Tennis Team, as both Lions put up a strong showing at the 2018 NCAA Division I Championship.
The doubles tandem of Miroshnichenko and Voracek made it all the way to the Round of 16 and were ranked as high as No. 18.
Miroshnichenko made LMU women's tennis history when she became the program's first-ever-All-American after making it to the Round of 16 during her National Championship run, finishing her freshman season ranked No. 35.
The Lions will take the court in Eugene this Friday at 5 p.m.
