LOS ANGELES – The LMU men's soccer team (1-6) returns to Sullivan Field for a home match vs. CSUN (6-2) on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. The Lions will look to snap a six-game losing streak on Thursday, with LMU's last win coming on opening night against UC Riverside.
CSUN is 6-2 on the season and has earned back-to-back wins against nationally ranked opponents (UCLA, Cornell), putting the Matadors into the Top Drawer Soccer Top 25 at No. 13. This marks the highest ranking for CSUN in the TDS Top 25 since 2013. The Matadors' two losses on the season have come against Stanford and San Francisco.
Sophomore
Francis Avoce is LMU's leading scorer on the season, with two of the team's six goals. Lions goalkeeper
Paul Lewis has played six of the seven matches and has tallied 28 saves so far in 2018.
Daniel Trejo leads CSUN in goals on the season with five, while three Matadors have scored four goals in 2018 (Johnny Rodriguez, Wolfgang Prentice, Khalid Hunter). Trejo and Hunter each have two game-winning goals as well. Henrik Regitnig has played in seven of the Matadors' eight games with a record of 6-1, 30 saves and just six goals allowed.
