PARKER, Colo. – Following his seven top-five finishes from a year ago, Loyola Marymount senior
Riley Elmes earned his first runner-up finish of 2018-19. LMU also shot a team three-round low for the year, tying for third overall at 295-294-298—887.
"Conditions were really tough this week," said Head Coach
Jason D'Amore. "Riley played great and the guys battled all week. This tournament will be something for us to build on."
The Lake Oswego, Ore., native finished three-strokes off the lead with a season-best 68-68-73—209. Elmes' two rounds of 68 are his low for the season, and his 7-under mark on Par 5 holes was second best in the field.
In his first tournament of his junior season,
Mason Glinski tied for 15
thwith his 73-73-74, highlighted by a tournament-best two eagles.
Freshmen pair
Kyle Kinnane (77-79-73—229) and
Raymond Navis (77-74-79—230) finished within a stroke of each other for the second consecutive tournament.
In his season debut,
Michael Mozilo shot a 79-83-78—240.
The tournament featured several weather delays over the two days of competition.
The Lions will have a slight break in their schedule until the team travels to Kauai, Hawaii, for the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational to close out October.
