LOS ANGELES â€" Following the departure of Loyola Marymount's five-member senior class, the LMU men's basketball has announced the addition of two junior college transfers for the 2017-18 season. The Lions have signed guards James Batemon and Cameron Allen.
Batemon is a 6'2 sophomore with two years of eligibility who played at North Dakota State College of The Sciences in Wahpeton, North Dakota for two seasons. A two-time NJCAA All-American selection, Batemon averaged 20 points per game and 5.1 assists per game last season and led NDSCS to a 28-7 record and a conference Championship in The MON DAC Conference and the Region XIII Championship in 2017. As a freshman, he led his team to the 2016 NJCAA National Tournament and the Region XIII Championship. A product out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Batemon played his AAU ball for DTA and attended Riverside University High School.

Allen joins the Lions with three years of eligibility following his freshman year at Pensacola State College, the same school graduating senior Shamar Johnson came from prior to the 2015-16 season. As a freshman, Allen averaged 14.4 points per game and five rebounds, and carried a 3.9 GPA. Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, he played his AAU ball for South Carolina Elite and attended high school at Forest Trails Academy.
