LOS ANGELES -- The Loyola Marymount women's basketball team was originally scheduled to play at UC Santa Barbara on Monday, Dec. 7, but the matchup was cancelled due to poor air quality caused by nearby fires. The game has been rescheduled and will now be played on Monday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at LMU.
The game will be free of charge to all fans, and LMU will be collecting cash donations for victims of the Thomas Fire. There will also be an electronic donation option set up at the marketing table inside of Gersten Pavilion for those without cash on hand. If you are unable to attend Monday night's game, but would like to provide a donation, please visit www.vcunitedway.org.
The Lions last played when the team hosted Cal State Northridge on Dec. 9. LMU lost the contest to CSUN 75-68, marking their second consecutive loss after beginning the season 7-0. Redshirt junior Gabby Green had team highs in points (18) and assists (8) to go along with five boards in the loss.
Following Monday night's game, LMU travels to Dallas, Texas to battle SMU on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. PT in the team's final matchup before conference play begins. The Lions' first WCC matchup will occur at home on Thursday, Dec. 28 when LMU hosts the Saint Mary's Gaels at 7 p.m.
