Opening a pair of matches in the Pacific Northwest on Friday afternoon, LMU women's tennis (7-9, 2-2 WCC) suffered a 4-0 setback to the Gonzaga Bulldogs (14-2, 4-1 WCC).

Gonzaga earned the doubles point by way of victories on courts one and three, as Sophie Whittle and Samantha Polayes defeated Jessica Perez and Elvira Juravliova, 6-4. Sissi Koehler and Domonique Garley also topped Anna Romeka and Tatijana Sheikhan, 6-4.

A trio of straight-set victories handed Gonzaga the sweep in singles play, as Garley topped Sheikhan, 6-0, 6-2, to capture the first point on court six. Polayes followed with a victory on court two, defeating Kristine Kouyoumjian, 6-2, 6-1, to bring USF within a point of the match. Graciela Rosas finished off the sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Romeka on court five.

The Lions will return to action Saturday when they travel to Portland for a match at 11 a.m.
