With all eyes on court four of a match against Saint Mary's, freshman Elvira Juravliova defeated Emma Critser, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (5), to clinch a 4-3 LMU (7-8, 2-1 WCC) victory over Saint Mary's (6-9, 3-2 WCC) on Saturday afternoon from LMU's Tennis Center.

The win was Juravliova's ninth straight victory and moved her to 13-2 on the season.

LMU had to battle back to earn the doubles point on Saturday after Parminder Kaur and Kareena Manji defeated Anna Romeka and Tatijana Sheikhan on court three, 6-3. Jessica Perez and Juravliova drew the Lions even with a 6-3 victory before Andrea Crespo and Julia Norlin clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court two.

After LMU dropped the first two singles points on the top two courts, Sheikhan drew the Lions back even at 2-2 with a 7-6 (3), 7-5 victory over Kaur on court six. SMC's Manji defeated Romeka, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, to pull the Gaels within a point of victory at 3-2, but Crespo kept the Lions alive with a 6-7 (3), 7-5, 6-2, win over Clementine Clement on court three, setting the table for Juravliova's epic victory over Critser.

LMU will return to action next week when it travels to Gonzaga and Portland. The Lions will visit the Bulldogs on Friday at 2 p.m. before playing the Pilots on Saturday at 11 a.m.
