Box Score

Finishing up the regular season on the road at Santa Clara, LMU (9-13, 3-6 WCC) dropped a 4-1 match to the Broncos (12-9, 5-4 WCC) on Saturday at the Degheri Tennis Center.

The Lions took the opening doubles decision on court three, as Andrea Crespo and Julia Norlin topped Zeina El Tawi/Elizabeth Stephens, 6-1. Despite the early setback, the Broncos battled back to take the doubles point with victories on the top two courts.

Just as it did in doubles, LMU earned the first decision in singles. Norlin had no trouble dispatching her opponent on court six, blanking Stephens, 6-0, 6-0, to even the tally at 1-1. Unfortunately for LMU, Santa Clara rallied again to run away with the match, winning on courts one, four and two to earn the victory and punch their ticket to the WCC Championship tournament next week.

LMU finishes the 2016 campaign, the first under head coach Agustin Moreno, at 9-13 and 3-6 in the WCC.
