Hosting Pacific in a West Coast Conference match on Friday afternoon, LMU (6-8, 1-1 WCC) defeated the Tigers (6-8, 1-3 WCC), 4-2, from the LMU Tennis Center.

The Lions used a balanced lineup to defeat the Tigers, claiming the doubles point by way of victories on courts two and three. Anna Romeka and Tatijana Sheikhan defeated Maayan Sela and Yuki Asami, 6-2, on court three before Andrea Crespo and Julia Norlin dispatched Cristina Ruiz and Katie Dyson, 6-3, to clinch the point. LMU was also winning on court one, but Jessica Perez and Elvira Juravliova had their match go unfinished at 6-5.

Pacific managed to crawl back even in the match score at 2-2 with wins on courts one and two, but LMU's singles depth proved enough to put the match away. Romeka handed LMU its third point with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Sabrina Rodriguez on court five before Elvira Juravliova contributed the match winner with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Ruiz on court four. With the win, the freshman has now won eight straight matches and is 12-2 on the season.

LMU will quickly prepare for its next match, hosting Saint Mary's on Saturday at 1 p.m.
