Nov. 7, 2016 Following a 2-0 week in which LMU posted a pair of road sweeps at Gonzaga and Portland, senior Jamie Lea has been named West Coast Conference Player of the Week. The honor is the first of Lea's career, and the second of the year for LMU after Sarah Sponcil earned the honor on September 19.
Lea finished the week with 22 kills (3.67 per set) while committing just one attacking error on 33 swings to manage a .636 hitting percentage. A force on the Lion block as well, the native of Efland, N.C. contributed a block solo and three block assists (.67 blocks per set).
Tied for the team-lead in kills in each of the matches, Lea began her week on Thursday with 11 kills on 13 errorless attacks (.846) at Gonzaga before posting 11 more on 20 swings at Portland (.500).
With the regular-season road slate now complete, LMU will return home for its final four matches of the regular season. Thursday's 7 p.m. match against San Francisco will precede Saturday's Noon match against Santa Clara this week.
