KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has released its annual list of collegiate soccer programs that have earned the Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2015-16 academic year. Loyola Marymount is one of 578 women's teams, and 893 total teams, to qualify for the award. Teams must achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year to receive the recognition.
Michelle Myers' Lions averaged a 3.08 GPA last school year, joining fellow West Coast Conference members Gonzaga, Pacific, Santa Clara, and Saint Mary's in recognition.
Five LMU players, Jocelyn Blankenship, Jill Farley, Sophia Leksan, Cassidy Nicks, and Callie Taylor, earned WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention honors in 2015.
Loyola Marymount and Pacific continue the WCC season Sunday in Stockton.
