LOS ANGELES -- The LMU women's soccer program has released its 2026 schedule, a 17-match slate that opens at home against a perennial contender in Pitt and includes a series of notable firsts as the West Coast Conference continues to take shape following recent expansion.
Head coach
Chris Chamides and the Lions will open Sullivan Field on Aug. 20 when the Panthers make the trip to Westchester. Pitt has been a consistent presence in the national rankings in recent seasons and represents one of the more decorated non-conference opponents on the schedule. The two programs last met at Sullivan Field in the 2024 home opener.
Three days after the home opener, LMU travels to Fullerton before heading north to Berkeley on Aug. 29 to begin the road leg of a home-and-home series with California. The Golden Bears will come to Sullivan Field in 2028 to complete the exchange.
West Coast Conference play opens Sept. 26 at Pacific in Stockton before LMU returns home the following weekend to host San Diego. The back end of the conference schedule brings two matchups that carry added significance given the league's recent realignment.
On Oct. 24, LMU travels to Seattle for its first road conference match against the Redhawks, who joined the WCC last season. The Lions have faced Seattle previously as a non-conference opponent, but this marks the second meeting overall as conference members and the first time LMU makes the trip north with WCC points on the line. Four days later, Denver visits Sullivan Field on Oct. 28 for the first conference meeting between the two programs since the Pioneers entered the WCC this year.
New to the WCC in 2026 will be a conference tournament. The top four finishers in the regular season will face off in a single-elimination bracket with the final played on Saturday, November 14 with the winner earning the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
LMU enters 2026 coming off a 5-7-5 overall record in 2025, going 2-5-4 in WCC play. Chamides, now in his fifth season, carries a 25-30-16 mark with the Lions.
