INSIDE THE LIONS
• LMU has now won the last three straight against Pepperdine and 7-of-8 during fourth-year Head Coach Charity Elliott's tenure.
• The Lions have started WCC play at 2-1 for the first time since 2010-11.
• LMU's seven-point loss to Gonzaga on Dec. 23 was the closest final score against the perennial WCC power since Feb. 7, 2008 when the Lions won 75-60.
• Through 14 games, the Lions have six wins, just one victory shy of last season's win total of seven. This is the fastest the Lions have reached six wins since Head Coach Charity Elliott's first season in 2012-13 when it took them 11 games to achieve the feat.
• LMU's 62-52 win over Portland on Dec. 21, 2015 was the 400th victory in the program's history, dating back to the 1981-82 season when they first began competing as an official intercollegiate program.

ABOUT THE SAINT MARY'S GAELS (11-4, 2-2 WCC)
Saint Mary's enters the third week of WCC play with a 2-2 league mark and 11-4 overall record. The Gaels have three players averaging double figures including Lauren Nicholson (18.7 ppg), Devon Brookshire (12.3 ppg) and Sydney Raggio (12.1 ppg). The team shoots nearly 46 percent from the field and 35 percent from three while holding opponents to a 38 percent clip from the field and 31.5 percent from long distance. The Gaels have taken 150 fewer shot attempts than their opponents, but have also take 100 more free-throw attempts and hold a +8.5 rebounding edge.

SERIES HISTORY Despite a 44-17 all-time series advantage for Saint Mary's, recent meetings between the Lions and Gaels have been battles. The last four meetings have all been decided by less than seven points, including an overtime thriller in LMU's most recent victory and a one-point decision in Moraga last winter. The Lions' last victory was a 76-74 overtime final in Gersten Pavilion on Feb. 13, 2014. The Gaels won both meetings last season and, overall, have one seven of the last eight meetings.

ALL-TIME THREE-POINT RECORD HOLDER
Junior Leslie Lopez-Wood's second three-pointer made in LMU's 79-69 win over Pepperdine on Jan. 2 was the 171st of her career, breaking the programs all-time record of 170, set by Renayh Young from 2007-10. Lopez-Wood, who has already twice set the Lions' single-season record (70 in 2013-14 and 82 in 2014-15) achieved the career feat in just 75 games. Young set her benchmark in 120 games. Lopez-Wood- finished the game with three triples, bringing her career total through Jan. 2, 2016 to 172.

ROOKIE RECORDS
Cheyanne Wallace posted a career-high 24 points in LMU's 62-52 win over Portland on Dec. 21. The output marked her fourth 20-plus point game of the season and gives her the highest single-game scoring mark for a freshman since Alex Cowling scored 26 points on Dec. 6, 2008 in a win over UNLV. The all-time freshman single-game record is 33 points, set by Bryn Britton at Santa Clara on Jan. 16, 1999. Through 14 games, Wallace is averaging 13.3 ppg. That mark is just below the LMU freshman single-season high of 13.4 ppg, set by LMU all-time leading scorer Alex Cowling in 2008-09.

APPROACHING 1,000…and 500
LMU seniors Deanna Johnson and Sophie Taylor are soon approaching the 1,000-point club. It is an elite marker at LMU with just 12 members to date. Johnson currently sits at 872 points for her career while Taylor is not far behind with 824. Taylor, meanwhile, looks to join an even more elite group as she nears the 500 rebound mark (462 to date). Thirteen players have achieved that level in LMU history, however, just five have eclipsed both the 1,000-point mark and the 500-rebound mark. She would join the ranks of Tricia Gibson (1988-91), Tanya White (1992-95), Bryn Britton (1998-02), Adrianne Slaughter (2000-04) and Alex Cowling (2008-13).
