SOMIS, Calif. -The LMU men's golf team has no seniors on its roster, and for junior leader Connor Campbell, their growth together will be a key to each individuals advancement on the golf course. And for Campbell, its all about playing with a smile.
Playing within one's personality and staying consistent with that is a key for the Lions, Campbell says. For him, its all about having fun and playing with a smile. He and the Lions will hope to put together their most consistent play at the right time as they head into the 2015 West Coast Conference Championships, Monday - Wednesday, April 13-15 at Saticoy Country Club in Somis, California. The event runs from Monday, April 13 through Wednesday, April 15. Golfers will play 18 holes per day on the par-72 course playing at 6,985 yards.
The LMU Sports Network caught up with Campbell to talk about the upcoming WCC Championships, the growth of the Lions' young squad and what they can accomplish together.
The Lions will remain consistent with their line-up at the WCC's led by Campbell, who leads the Lions with a 73.04 stroke average. He has lowered his career average by more than a stroke this, his third season.
Joining him with be Chase Nicolai, Braden Baer, Blake Meek and Nick Jan. Nicolai is second on the team at 74.32 while Baer is at 74.68. The three stroke leaders for the Lions have played in every tournament on the season for the Lions, playing 25 rounds.
Meek has played in 22 rounds this season and is at 76.14 for the season, while Jan has played 14 rounds and is at 77.36 for the year.
