NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship Interactive Bracket
LOS ANGELES - LMU women's soccer is in to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history and the first time since 2006, as the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee announced the 64-team field Monday afternoon.
The Lions draw a first-round match-up at Pac-12 member Cal, which earned a three seed with a 13-5-3 overall record. The teams will kick off from Berkeley on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 12 p.m.
LMU concluded the regular season matching the program record for wins, going 13-5-1 overall. They also finished a perfect 10-0 on their home pitch and went 7-2-0 in West Coast Conference play, earning a tie for second place.
On an individual level, 14 different Lions found the back of the net this fall, led by senior Jocelyn Blankenship who led the way with seven goals and five assists for 19 points. Fellow senior Morgan Hilby had five goals as the team total of 33 is the third most scored in a single season.
LMU has also gotten it done defensively with 10 total shutouts on the year, tying for second most in a single season in program history.
