LOS ANGELES - LMU women's basketball's second and final tune-up prior to Saturday's official 2015-16 season opener is Monday, tonight, in Gersten Pavilion. The Lions host Bethesda University in an exhibition match-up with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
The young squad that features just four upperclassmen, earned a 64-59 exhibition win over Cal State San Bernardino on Nov. 3. Senior Sophie Taylor led all players with 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting and sophomore Bree Alford added 18 points on 7-of-11 from the field in just 21 minutes of action.
A bright spot off the bench was redshirt freshman NK Ilang, who chipped in seven points and eight rebounds in 10 minutes of play.
The Lions hit a respectable 41.7 percent from the field and also went 12-of-14 from the charity stripe. They also dished 20 total assists on 25 made field goals.
Following Monday night's game, the Lions officially open the season on the road for the 13th consecutive year, traveling to Boulder, Colo., to take on Colorado on Saturday at 1 p.m. (PT). LMU's home opener is Nov. 17 versus Cal State Fullerton.
