INSIDE THE LIONS
Hazel Ramirez has scored in double-figures in three of LMU's first four games this season, leading the team with 11.5 ppg. Four different players have led the scoring column in a game, including Ramirez, Emily Ben-Jumbo, Deanna Johnson and Chelsea Barnes. Barnes' team-high 16 points versus Oregon State also matched her career high, set at Wyoming on Dec. 29, 2012. Taylor Anderson and Mackenzie Kerins have each totalled a double-double. Anderson's 10-point, 10-rebound effort at Utah State was a career first for the junior. Kerins tallied 12 points and 13 rebounds versus New Mexico State for her seventh career double-double. With 14 assists through four games, Ramirez brings her career total to an even 300, which is good for sixth in LMU's all-time record book. Next in line is Kate Murray (1999-04) with 329.

LIONS LAST LINE
The road continues to be unkind early in this 2013-14 season as the Lions fell 92-54 at Oregon State Thursday night at the Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore. LMU managed just nine field goals in the first half and, despite a much improved second period, could not overcome their slow start. Chelsea Barnes was a spark off the bench for LMU, matching her career high with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe. Hazel Ramirez chipped in 13 points as the Lions hit just 33 percent from the field while going 0-for-4 from three. They did turn in a 91-percent effort from the charity strip in the second half, going 10-for-11 in the period.

ABOUT THE LONG BEACH STATE 49ERS
Long Beach State opened the 2013-14 season on the road for its first three games, going 1-2 with an double overtime win at San Francisco on Nov. 17. Saturday's match-up with LMU beings a three-game homestand for the 49ers. Through three games, LBSU has averaged 65.7 points and 44.3 rebounds while giving up an 81-point, 57.3-rebound averaging to its opponents. Lauren Spargo leads a balanced attack with 12.3 ppg, followed by Alex Sanchez (11 ppg) and Raven Benton (10 ppg). The 49ers were the preseason pick to finish fourth in the Big West Conference while Sanchez was named to the Preseason All-Big West Team.

It was the 12th straight victory for the Lions over the 49ers, dating back to Dec. 5, 1997, as well as LMU's first victory under Head Coach Charity Elliott.
