LOS ANGELES, Calif. - LMU volleyball's incoming recruiting class has been tabbed Highest Honorable Mention by PrepVolleyball.com for the second straight year, it was announced on May 24. The class includes incoming freshmen Sara Myers (OH - Episcopal School of Dallas), Rachelle Suaava (MB/RS - Long Beach Poly) and Hannah Tedrow (S - Orange Lutheran), in addition to transfer Kathleen Luft (OH - University of Georgia). LMU is one of just two West Coast Conference schools on the list, as Pepperdine was also lauded.

In order to determine the top recruiting classes, PrepVolleyball.com petitions a panel of college coaches from across the country to develop the list. The coaches represent every major conference, plus a few from lower-level D-I through D-III schools. The charge to these coaches was to judge each class using both size and strength of the class, and impact on that program as guides. The classes were not rated solely on immediate impact to the program, but were also judged based on the cumulative impact the class could make in four to five years at the school. The classes consist only of players making their initial appearance in a four-year program, and thus Luft was not included in the final analysis despite the fact that she is expected to play an integral role in her first season at LMU.

Third-year head coach Tom Black and his newest team of Lions will begin the 2012 season on August 18 when the Lions welcome back former LMU players for the 2012 Alumnae Match. The regular season will begin on August 24 as the Lions host a tournament that will feature Iona, UC Santa Barbara and Connecticut.
