LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU women's soccer team recorded its sixth shutout of the season and finished with a 0-0 tie against Gonzaga in WCC action this afternoon at Sullivan Field. The hotly contested game went back and forth, with both teams getting opportunities, but neither team could find the back of the net.

Joslyn Slovek recorded her sixth shutout, making six saves for LMU. The Lion backline also got in on the action, making several key stops, including a goal line save late in the game to preserve the shutout. It is just the second time this season that the Bulldogs have been kept off the scoreboard.

Lori Sims looked to give the Lions the lead in the first half, with a beautiful shot to the upper right corner of the net, but Ashley Haugen used every inch of her 5-11 frame to save the ball and knock it out of bounds. Sims also had another strong chance in the second half, but her ball hit the right post and bounced away.

Gonzaga defender Lori Conrad nearly ended the game in the 108th minute, but her shot was saved off of the goal line by the LMU defense and the game ended in a tie.

In the hotly contested game, the Lions were called for a total of six yellow cards. Gonzaga outshot LMU, 18-13, and were led by Jamie Blanche with four shots. Lori Sims led LMU with six shots, including three on goal.

The Lions head to Northern California next weekend, for a pair of games against Saint Mary's and San Francisco.
