Former Lion Bryn Britton Signs Pro Oversees Contract

Aug. 6, 2003

Los Angeles, CA - Former women's basketball standout Bryn Britton signed a contract to play for USC-Eisovogel Freiburg of the German First Division Premier League.

Britton is set to depart on Aug. 11 to begin training with her new team. Britton, who made her mark on Europe last year, lit up the European scene with an average of 30 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and six steals per game. Britton's rough and rugged style of guard play is a commodity in European basketball. Her ability to shoot from every angle and distance on the floor has given Britton a respectable name on the international basketball scene.

Britton will have to play above par for Freiburg as they are ranked fourth out of the 10 pro league teams. Her first cup game will be against defending champs Marburg.

Britton, who stands as LMU's all-time leading scorer was signed by the WNBA's Detroit Shock in 2003 before being released.
