Los Angeles, CA - Loyola Marymount senior women's soccer player Laura Trask was named to the SoccerBuzz Magazine National Elite Team of the Week this week. The award is the first national honor for the LMU women's soccer team this season.
Trask, a team captain, was pivotal in the Lions going 2-0 last weekend at the Stanford/Nike Invitational and earning the tournament championship. The El Cajon, Calif., native had a goal and two assists in LMU's 3-0 shutout win over TCU. She came back the following game to collect her third assist of the weekend on the game-winning goal against Stanford.
Trask is currently second among Lions with three assists and third with her two goals this season. Her efforts on defense has also helped LMU earn a No.17 ranking in the nation in team shutout percentage (0.58).
