LMU Women's Soccer Suffers 2-0 Shutout

Corvallis, OR -- The Loyola Marymount University women's soccer team traveled to Corvallis, Oregon, on Sunday where they suffered a 2-0 shtuout from the Beavers.

Oregon State was led by Katie Henderson, who scored the first goal for the Beavers at 25:25 on the clock. She was assisted by Mandy Melendez. The Beavers insurance goal came at 72:06 on the clock from Morgan Crabtree, who sealed the win for the team.

The Lions were led by sophmore forward Shari Nishikawa who took a total of three shots for the match. LMU had a scare when goalkeeper Elizabeth Skhal was injured just before halftime. Back-up goalkeeper Kelly Yukihiro took her place, and recorded three more saves for the season. Elly Colvin and Allison Marra each took two shots, and Myka Peck, Jennifer Cefalia, Erin Fahey and Laura Trask each took a single shot. The Lions hoped that their 3-2 win over #24 Michigan would give thier season a boost, but so far they have yet to post a win since August 31.

Next, the Lions host the Fila Cup Tournament at their home field, Sullivan, this weekend. The face Kentucky on Friday at 4:00, then on Sunday they face Wake Forest at 2:00. USC is also playing in the tournament, however they don't face the Lions until later this season.
