Men's Golf Places Fourth at Yale Invite

Los Angeles, Calif. -- The Loyola Marymount men's golf team teed off its 2000-01 campaign with a fourth place effort at the Yale Invitational Sept. 17-18 in New Haven, Conn. The Lions shot a collective 70-over-par 903 in the two day, three round event, 24 strokes back of winning school University of Hartford.

LMUs play in the 21-team tournament was highlighted by freshman Mike Farrell's seven-over-par 217 performance in his collegiate debut which placed him second overall. Farrell was the overall leader following round one at minus three, but was edged out for the Yale Invitational title by SUNY Binghamton's Adam Fuchs by one stroke.

Senior Justin Grilli (226) and junior Cam Fife (232) also had strong performances for LMU, finishing tied for15th and 30th, respectively.
