LOS ANGELES — No. 51 LMU men's tennis dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 16 San Diego on Friday at LMU Tennis Center, falling to 16-2 on the season.
The Lions never found their footing, ceding the doubles point early as the Toreros won two of three courts.
Cesar Cruz and
Emil Kindhult fell to Stian Klaassen and Oliver Tarvet, 6-3, at No. 2, and
Cyrus Ahmad and
Darius Tamaddon dropped a 6-4 decision to Manvydas Balciunas and Vincent Marysko at No. 3.
Alex Padro Parra and
Max Wuelfing's match against Adrien Berrut and Lambert Ruland at No. 1 went unfinished.
LMU couldn't recover in singles. ITA No. 21 Oliver Tarvet overwhelmed
Max Wuelfing 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, and Neo Niedner handed
Tristan Messerli a 6-2, 6-2 defeat at No. 6. Vincent Marysko then sealed the match for San Diego, topping
Emil Kindhult 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3.
The remaining three singles matches, featuring
Cesar Cruz,
Alex Padro Parra and
Kuba Hrynkiewicz, were left unfinished with the outcome already decided.
