SAN DIEGO – Thursday morning the Lions took down the Gonzaga Bulldogs, 4-1, in the opening round of the WCC Championship Tournament. 

Doubles play was tight, with each team claiming a court before the decisive point came down to Court 3. In singles, all matches were settled in straight sets, with the Lions winning three of the six courts to secure the overall win.
