CHULA VISTA, Calif. – LMU men's golf placed in a tie for eighth of the 16 teams following three rounds of play at the Lamkin Invitational. The Lions shot 6-under for the event with a final team score of 289-280-289—858.
Alejandro Alonso led the Lions with his 7-under performance to stand alone in 14
th place. Alonso shot 71-68-70—209 over the two days, including totaling 12 birdies and an opening round eagle on Hole 8.
Shooting up 18 positions on the leaderboard between rounds two and three was
Cade Anderson, who finished at 2-under, 71-73-70—214 and tied for 28
th.
Both finishing with one round under par,
Mason Snyder (72-69-76—217) placed 41
st and
Trevor Algya (76-70-76—222) placed 65
th.
Louie Liu closed out the LMU five with his 75-77-73—225 in the field of 96.
Competing as an individual,
Hogan Park placed in a tie for 45
th and shot 69-72-77—218.
LMU's second round score was one of only four teams to shoot 280 or below.
The Lions will compete in their home tournament next Monday and Tuesday with the Pauma Valley Invitational scheduled for the second year of the event on March 17-18. The event will be free to attend and will be played at Pauma Valley Country Club.
