LOS ANGELES – LMU Director of Rowing
Allison Foster has named Emma Luniewicz the newest assistant coach for the women's rowing program. Luniewicz joins the Lions as a decorated student-athlete and leader.
"We welcome Emma to the Bluff and look forward to her joining the coaching staff and sharing her knowledge and experience with the team," said Foster. "Emma brings an enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring student-athletes and values the holistic approach to coaching that we embody here at LMU. Her role will be the development of our walk-on athletes, and she is certainly a great fit for passing on a passion and knowledge of rowing to those new to the sport."
Luniewicz competed for the University of Michigan from 2017-2022, where she helped lead the Wolverines to three NCAA Championships and two Big Ten Conference Championship Titles. Luniewicz won bronze at the NCAA Championships in the 2V8.
While at Michigan, Luniewicz served as an Executive Board Member for Athletes for Community Transformation and as Vice President for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Additionally, Luniewicz was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
"Emma's background in collegiate rowing at Michigan means she understands high-level training and competition and how to balance that with exceptional academics," added Foster. "I am excited to add Emma to our coaching team as we continue growing LMU Women's Rowing."
A two-time graduate from the University of Michigan, Luniewicz earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management and her Master of Management from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
