LOS ANGELES - The West Coast Conference has announced the 2023 WCC Women's Volleyball Preseason Honors. Isabella Bareford, Kari Geissberger, Jacquelyn Moore and Michelle Shaffer have been selected as honorees for the 2023 season. 
 
At the end of the 2022 season, Bareford tallied 1088 assists and 27 kills, securing the second position in assists within the WCC with an average of 10.46 assists per set. Additionally, she clinched the fourth spot on the team for digs, recording 167 in the previous season.
 
Geissberger completed the previous season with 343 kills, ranking first on the team. Her performance earned her the eighth rank in the conference for kills per set, totaling 3.30. She also was ranked third in points, averaging 4.18 points per set.
 
Moore concluded the 2022 season as the conference's leader with a hitting percentage of .395. Moore showcased her versatility by contributing 87 blocks and 238 kills, ranking third in both categories for the team.
 
Even though Shaffer's first year at LMU was affected by an injury, her performance in the 2021 season at Santa Clara stands out. She finished the season with eight impressive double-doubles and hit a personal best with eight blocks in a single game. Shaffer also had two occasions where she reached a season-high of 20 kills.
 
The WCC Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll also selected LMU to finish third in the 2023 season with 50 points. San Diego was the top pick with 63 points, and Pepperdine came second with 57 points.
 
The Lions are set to kick off their 2023 season this weekend at Long Beach State, where they will face the No.1 Texas Longhorns on Saturday at 1:00 PM and Long Beach State on Sunday at 4:00 PM
