MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – The seventh-ranked LMU beach volleyball team took down a pair of ranked teams in the first day of the East Meets West Challenge in Manhattan Beach. The Lions opened the day with a 4-1 victory in the dual against 11^th-ranked Georgia State. After clinching against the Panthers, LMU won three of five courts against No. 16 Florida International to move to 18-1 on the season.
 
Competition continues Saturday with LMU paired up against two top-five teams. The Lions will open the will play fifth-ranked LSU at 8:30 AM before seeing No. 4 Florida State in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament matchup at 1:00 PM. The highly competitive field features four teams from the west coast battling it out against four top east coast teams.
