  • Went 3-1 in dual matches at the No. 3 position (3-1 with Simone Priebe) 

  • Ranked wins over USC, UCLA (x2), LMU (x3), GCU, Stanford, and Long Beach St (x2).

2020 · Sophomore at Pepperdine 

  • Went 6-1 overall on the season before the remainder of the season was canceled due to COVID-19 and was granted an extra year of eligibility.

2019 · Freshman at Pepperdine

High School 

Graduated from Colegio Aleman de Santiago in Santiago, RM, Chile in 2017 … Lettered five years as an opposite under Head Coach Italo Raggio in the LIGA UC league … Earned Best Server and Best Player Super Copa at Copa Gevert in her senior season and Best Hitter Copa Providencia at National League in her senior and junior seasons… Earned Best Player at Promesas as a freshman … Led her team to Champions Liga UC in 2015, 2016 and 2017, National  Champion titles in 2014 and 2016, a 3rd place finish at the Beach Volleyball Schools World Championship and 13th place in the Volleyball Schools World Championships.  

International Experience 

Paul placed 2nd in the 2022 World Tour Futures event in Cortegaça, Portugal with Nele Schmitt. Also with Schmitt, Paul placed 7th in the 2022 German Championship; 2nd in the 2022 Berlin German Tour Stop; 5th in the 2022 Düsseldorf German Tour Stop; 9th in 2022 Düsseldorf II German Tour Stop; 8th in the 2022 Munich German Tour Stop; 4th in 2022 Stuttgart German Tour Stop; 5th in 2022 Fehmarn German Tour Stop; 3rd in 2022 Düsseldorf German Tour Stop; 9th in 2022 Münster German Tour Stop… finished 5th at 2022 World Tour Futures event in Myslowice, Poland with Leonie Kortzinger…placed 2nd at Rorschach Swiss Tour Event in 2022 with Delaney Mewhirter.  

Personal 

Melanie Paul was born on Oct. 27, 2000, in Buenos Aires, Argentina… parents are Axel and Karin Paul…mother Karin played tennis at Wake Forest… has an older sister, Mariela, who played professional volleyball in Germany and an older brother, Jan-Henrik… favorite food is enchiladas…hobbies outside of volleyball is playing tennis and going on hikes… lists Laura Ludwig as her biggest sports inspiration…great athletic thrill is running down a ball and converting it into the perfectly placed shot… chose LMU because of the good academic and beach volleyball program and really liked the coaching staff and team.
