SAN MATEO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has named LMU graduate striker Adam Davie as the Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Davie scored twice last week, bringing his season total to five goals. That matches the highest scoring tally from last season's team leader,
Narciso Cervantes, and there are still ten more games to play.
Davie's strike against Cal State Fullerton opened up the scoring after a scoreless first half. He dropped back to take a feed from
Corbin Mercado and took a few dribbles before curling a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. They would go on to win that game 2-1.
Davie was also the hero in the other game last week as he scored the equalizer in the 81st minute of a match the Lions trailed much of. After
Derek Goodman played
Christian Ortiz through, Ortiz fired back to
Dylan Shockey who found Davie waiting at the back post to tap in for a tie ballgame. The Lions would draw against UC Riverside 1-1.
This is Davie's second Player of the Week award after a three-goal week the first week of the season.
