NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — LMU outshot CSUN 17-5 but could not break through in a 1-0 loss Thursday night at Matador Soccer Field.
The Lions (4-3-1) controlled much of the second half, generating 10 shots after the break and forcing Matador goalkeeper Dorian Drucks into six saves on the night.
Anthony Boyadjian led LMU with four shots, including two on target, while
Nathan Rodrigues and
Quinn Galvin also tested the keeper.
CSUN (4-0-3) scored the lone goal in the 42nd minute when Daniel Garcia finished off a ball played into the middle by Zack Harris.
LMU goalkeeper Philip Hovers made one save as the Lions limited the Matadors to just five total shots and one in the second half. LMU also earned four corner kicks to CSUN's five.
The Lions return to action on Monday when they travel to face UC Riverside.
