LOS ANGELES – The LMU women's tennis team is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history, the team learned on Monday. The Lions, after posting an 18-3 record in the regular season, were chosen as an at-large selection in the 64-team NCAA Tournament.
LMU will stay in the Golden State and head north for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament with national seed No. 11 California serving as the host school for the opening weekend.
The Lions will face Texas Tech in Friday's opening round for a 10:00 AM at the Hellman Tennis Complex. The two teams met back in 1991 on a neutral court, with LMU taking the match 5-4 over the Red Raiders.
Cal will take on Northern Arizona at 1:00 PM later on Friday. Saturday's second-round match will start at 12:00 PM.
