EL MACERO, Calif. – LMU men's golf earned a third-place finish in the final event of the regular season. LMU shot 280-292-289—861 to place in the top three of the El Macero Classic and head into the West Coast Conference Championships on a high note.
The Lions finished three strokes under par as a team and finished four strokes off the lead. LMU finished the tournament as the best par three team, shooting 8-over on such holes. Additionally, no other team recorded more holes at par than the 175 by the Lions.
Riley Lewis led the charge with his 70-71-69—210 to tie for third in the player leaderboard at 6-under.
Cameron Meeks tied for 17
th following his 67-73-74—214.
Also placing in the top 30 of the field was
Gavin Cohen at 69-78-72—219.
Caden McMackin (74-72-80—226) and
Alejandro Alonso (78-76-74—228) closed out the lineup for the Lions.
LMU will next compete at the end of next week in the three-day WCC Championships held in Lake Las Vegas, Nev.
