EUGENE – LMU men's golf moved into fourth place by the end of the day on Monday in the 32
nd Oregon Duck Invitational. The Lions shot 292-286—578 as a team through two rounds at Eugene Country Club after closing the day with a three-over second round in the tough weather conditions.
A three-way tie from LMU's
Riley Lewis (71-74—145),
Tony Hendricks (75-70—145), and
Cameron Meeks (72-73—145) put the trio of Lions in a tie for 18
th overall in the field of 91.
Alejandro Alonso is also in scoring position for the Lions, and tied for 39
th, with his 76-72—148.
Gavin Cohen shot 78-72—150 over his first two rounds.
LMU's five recorded 32 birdies, the third most through two rounds, with Hendricks claiming eight of them.
Competing as an individual,
John Pollock returned to his hometown and put together a 83-81—164.
The final round will tee off at 8:30 a.m. for all golfers. As a team, LMU will start holes 1A, 1B, 2, 3, and 4 with the top team pairings from Washington, Utah, Arizona State. Pollock will start his day from 18.
