Women’s Track and Field Release 2022 Schedule

LOS ANGELES – Head Coach Chloe Curtis and the Loyola Marymount University Lions women's track and field team released the 2022 meet schedule. The Lions will compete in 19 track meets prior to the NCAA West Region Preliminaries May 25th through 28th in Fayetteville, Arkansas. 
 
"The Lion women are looking forward to a full track season this spring. We are lucky to have so many high-level meets right in our backyard here in Southern California. This schedule will put us in position to go after personal records and if all goes well, qualification for the post-season," said Curtis.
 
LMU opens the track season in Riverside, California for the RCC Early Bird on February 11th followed by the Pepperdine Quad in Malibu, California on February 26th. 
 
The month of March sees the Lions competing in six meets beginning with the Beach Opener on the campus of Long Beach State University on March 5th followed by the Occidental Distance Carnival in Eagle Rock, California on March 12th. The following weekend has the Lions competing in both the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Arizona on March 18th and the Franson Classic on March 19th in Azusa, California. LMU closes March with the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival on March 25th and the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational on March 26th with both meets taking place in Westwood, California. 
 
April is the busiest month for the Lions beginning with the West Coast Relays on April 1st and the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, California on April 2nd. The Lions return to Westwood for the Jim Bush Legends Invitational on April 9th then compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California and the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut April 13th through 16th. The Beach Invitational is next up for LMU on April 16th then the UC Riverside Twilight on April 22nd. The Lions close out the month with the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, California April 29th through 30th. 
 
The Lions have three meets in May, starting with the Oxy Invitational in Eagle Rock, California and the Portland Twilight in Portland, Oregon both on May 7th. The APU Last Chance is next on the schedule for LMU the weekend of May 13th through 14th followed by the NCAA West Region Preliminary Round May 25th through 28th on the campus of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. The Lions will close out the track schedule at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon June 8th through 11th.
