LOS ANGELES – The LMU Track teams have been on a tear this spring, putting up top times on both the men's and women's sides.Â

Freshman runner Hayden Washington carried her successful debut with cross country over into the track season by posting the second fastest women's mile time in school history with a time of 5:10 at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers meet on February 18.Â

Zoe Chang also posted the eighth best time in the 200 meters with a time of 28.70. Â
Â
On the men's side, three runners entered the top ten in the 3000 meters.
Adam Trafecanty posted the third best time at LMU with a time of 8:17.35, followed by
Shane Ely at eighth best (8:27.46) and
Daniel Vaca at ninth best (8:28.61). Â

The Lions had a couple more highlights at the Oxy Invitational on March 11. Â

Avery Doan posted the second-best 3K steeplechase time ever on the women's side with a time of 11:36.73. She also won her first ever steeplechase race. Â

Trafecanty continued his successful spring with a fifth-best time of 14:13 in the men's 5K, finishing second overall. Â

The men's team fared well on their split weekend at the Mike Fanelli Classic and at the Stanford invite. Â

Will Luders posted the 17th best 10,000 meters time at the Mike Fanelli with a time of 33:01.73, his first ever 10K race. Â

Shane Ely posted the 19th best time in the 5,000 meters in the same meet.Â
Â
Up at Stanford, Trafecanty finished third in his heat and third all time in the men's 5K with a time of 14:09.59. Â

Daniel Vaca also performed well, winning his heat, climbing to third all-time at LMU and finishing 33rd in the NCAA West Region in the 3K steeplechase. Â

At the West Coast Relays on March 31, three Lions posted top ten times.Â

Marina Soares picks up the eighth best time in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.46. Â

Chang (27.41) and Douglas (28.27) competed in the 200 meters and posted the second and fifth fastest times respectively. Â
