Snyder Promoted to Associate Head Coach

LOS ANGELES – Director of Rowing and Women's Head Coach Karl Huhta announced today that Eric Snyder has been promoted to Associate Head Coach of the Loyola Marymount University Lions women's rowing team.

"It is my utmost pleasure to recognize Eric by naming him Associate Head Coach; a title he is more than deserving of," said Huhta. "He's been tremendous to our program since arriving on the bluff, and his attitude and spirit, mentorship to our student-athletes, and day-to-day work ethic has been invaluable. He is a fantastic coach and even better human being and we are thankful that he is a Lion."

Snyder came to LMU with Huhta's hiring prior to the start of the 2019-2020 season and has spent the past two years serving as the first assistant coach with the Lions.

"I am honored and humbled to accept the promotion to Associate Head Coach," said Snyder. "It is truly a privilege to work with such a dedicated and focused staff at LMU while having the opportunity to coach such an amazingly driven group of athletes. Thanks go out to the rowers and coxswains. Each day I spend with the athletes helps me learn how to become a better coach. We are always pushing up the competitive fire within the WCC. I aim to nurture a spark within each athlete that encapsulates their desire to improve and aspire to their greatest potential. Every practice the coaching staff is thinking of new and creative ways to engage the athletes' minds, to keep them learning something new every time they are on the water and in the process, keeping fully invested in giving their best. Thanks go out to head coach Karl Huhta for fostering an uplifting and inspiring environment for athletes to thrive. GO LIONS!"
