HENDERSON, NV – The 2021 West Coast Conference Championships have done to a close after three well-played rounds that featured eight of nine teams at even or better and six teams at 11-strokes under par or better. LMU finished sixth in the tournament at Reflection Bay Golf Club with an 11-under, 286-278-289—853 performance.
The Lions had two players battling at the top as
Gavin Cohen finished tied for seventh overall and
Riley Lewis tied for 11
th.
Cohen shot under par each day, 66-71-71—208 to finish just three strokes back of the tournament co-champions.
In his first-ever conference championship, Lewis shot 72-67-71—210.
Both Cohen and Lewis each recorded 17 birdies over the three days.
Fellow freshman
Caden McMackin tied for 28
th at 76-69-73—218.
Cameron Meeks (73-74-74—221) and
Kyle Kinnane (75-71-76—222) finished a stroke apart to round out the LMU five.
Pepperdine won the team title with a tournament record 49-under par.
