PROVO, Utah – LMU men's golf put together two consecutive rounds of 290 to place in 13
th after the first day of competition at the Ping Cougar Classic. Eight of the 20 teams were unable to finish the second round of play due to darkness and will resume Saturday morning.
The Lions totaled 118 pars and 27 birdies to reach 580.
Gavin Cohen led the team and is one stroke under par with his 72-71—143. Cohen is in an eight-player tie for 22
nd, with three competitors still in the midst of their second round.
Riley Lewis is one over par at 75-70—145 and tied for 42
nd.
Cameron Meeks (73-74—147),
Kyle Kinnane (71-77-148), and
Caden McMackin (74-75—149) each finished within a stroke of each other to round out the LMU five.
Play will conclude on Saturday morning. Round 2 will be completed in the morning with a shotgun start for Round 3.
