LOS ANGELES – Following a program record 28-under their last time out, LMU men's golf has added a tournament to the spring schedule. The Lions will compete in The Joust hosted by California Baptist and be held on Feb. 22-23.
The two-day tournament will open with 36 holes on Monday, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Live stats will be provided at golfstat.com, and the event is open to the public following state and local county regulations regarding COVID-19. All spectators must wear a mask and continue to socially distance themselves throughout the tournament.
LMU will be sending
Gavin Cohen,
Caden McMackin,
Riley Lewis,
Cameron Meeks, and
Kyle Kinnane to compete. All five Lions will tee off at 8:00 a.m. from their respective holes and be paired with Sacramento State and North Dakota State.
California Baptist, Cal State Fullerton, LMU, Grand Canyon, Idaho, North Dakota State, Oakland, Pacific (CA), Sacramento State, Utah Valley, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, and Washington State will make up the field competing for the team champion and the All-Five Team Champion.
Most tournaments allow five golfers to compete, with only four counting scores going towards the team score. The third champion will have to count all five player scores to see who will be crowned the All-Five Team Champion.
