Full Lou Henson Award Watch List
BOSTON, MA - The Watch List for the 2021-22 Lou Henson National Player of the Year award was announced this week.
The award, which is presented annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball, honors the former Illinois and New Mexico State head coach who won 775 games in 41 seasons.
LMU's
Eli Scott is included in this year's list as he enters his fifth season with the Lions. This is the first time in his career that Scott has been named to the Preseason Watch List for the award, as last January his name was included on the Midseason Watch List for the same award.
Through four seasons at LMU, Scott ranks amongst the program's all-time best in scoring, rebounding, assists, and games played. Scott's 1498 career points rank 11th all-time, his 749 rebounds are sixth-most in school history, his 358 assists is ninth-best, and he ranks in a tie for 18th with 112 career games played in an LMU uniform.
Players on teams from the following conferences are eligible for the award: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast.
LMU opens the 2021-22 regular season at home on Tuesday, November 9
th. The Lions will host the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in a 7:00 PM game.
