West Coast Conference 2018-19 Rowing All-Academic Team

The West Coast Conference announced today its 2018-19 Rowing All-Academic Team. This year's 17-member team is comprised of student-athletes who have excelled both on the water and in the classroom. Loyola Marymount's
Anna Davis makes her second straight entry to the team and is joined by senior
Ma'at Hembrick, while 14 other Lions rowers took home honorable mention selections.

Davis carries a 3.85 GPA as a psychology major, while Hembrick sports an impressive 3.86 GPA while studying health and human sciences.

The tandem features six returners from the 2017-18 team, including Gonzaga's Olivia Lada and Portland's Acacia Wellsford, who have now earned WCC All-Academic honors in three straight years.Â

WCC champion Gonzaga led the way with five honorees, followed by Portland with three. San Diego, LMU, Saint Mary's and Santa Clara placed two rowers each on the team, while Creighton placed one.All told, 47 rowers achieved a 3.50 GPA while 29 reached the 3.75 mark.Â
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
