The Lions got off to a slow start, as they weren't able to take the doubles point. Veronika Miroshnichnko and
Eva Marie Voracek beat Wiktoria Rutkowska and Dominique Meyer on court one 6-3.
LBSU evened things out after Yesica De Lucas and
Sofiya Gaisina were beat by Zara Lennon and Emma Bardet on court three, 6-4. With the doubles point left up to court two,
Siobhan Anderson and Lillian Gabrielson put up a fight against Lalita Devarakonda and Natalie Munoz but couldn't keep up the pace, as they fell 7-5.
Down 1-0 headed into singles play,
Camila Tumosa tied things up after beating Lennon 6-1, 6-3 on court six. Miroshnichenko beat Rutkowska on court one, 6-3, 6-4, giving the Lions the lead. Yesica De Lucas picked up a win on court four against Devarakonda, 6-3, 6-2.
Anderson put up a fight, but fell to Munoz on court four, giving LBSU their first singles point. Up 3-2, Voracek beat Bardet on court two 6-1, 7-5, clinching the match for the Lions.
The Lions will be back in action on Thursday to resume conference play, as they will take on Santa Clara at 11:00 a.m.
