LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Loyola Marymount women's tennis team received its highest national ranking in program history at No. 43, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The No. 43 ranking comes after split week, where the Lions swept Cincinnati 4-0, but fell to No. 8 Pepperdine. The Lions went from a No. 50 ranking earlier in March, to being unranked to landing back in the rankings this week.
The Lions are coached by
Agustin Moreno, who has now led the Lions to its two highest program rankings this season.
The Lions are led by
Eva Marie Voracek and
Veronica Miroshnichenko, the doubles tandem just earned the West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week honor and are 6-2 on the season.
Miroshnichenko is 3-2 in singles play and holds down the No. 1 spot, while
Siobhan Anderson has a 4-1 record on the season.
The No. 43 Lions will be back in action this Friday and Saturday to take on Saint Mary's and Pacific on the road.
