Championship Run Ends in Round of 16

LMU's freshmen doubles pair of Veronica Miroshnichenko and Eva Marie Voracek had their National Championship run end in the Round of 16 on Friday at the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Doubles Championship being held at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The Lions faced #1-ranked ITA pair, and top seed in the tournament, Paige Hourigan/Kenya Jones (Georgia Tech) on Friday afternoon. The Lions dropped the decision, 6-2, 6-1.

The duo, ranked #18 in the latest ITA rankings, advanced to the Round of 16 by way of a 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 victory over Rosie Johanson/Meghan Kelley (Virginia), ranked #16 in the ITA poll, in the opening round.

Miroshnichenko/Voracek finish the 2018 season with a 23-8 doubles record and captured first team All-WCC honors as a pair.
