On a foggy day on the water in Newport Beach on Saturday, LMU rowing captured a pair of wins at the Berg Cup, claiming the second Varsity 8 and Varsity 4. LMU also entered boats in the Varsity 8, second Varsity 4 and Novice Varsity 4, but fog halted those competitions.

The Lions won the 2V8 with a time of 7:15.1, followed by UCSB at 7:26.5 and UC San Diego at 7:33.7.

The Lion Varsity 4 edged UCSD for the win in that race, registering a time of 7:33.2, followed by the Tritons (7:36.0), Orange Coast College (7:48.8) and UCSB (7:59.3).

The Lions will now prepare for an April 7 race with WCC foe Saint Mary’s in Orinda, Calif. The racing is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m.
